Detailed release notes Dub Interviewer 6.3.0

CATI

New login screen for interviewers: login by code/username + password.

The pull down menu was removed and the interviewers have to know/remember their username (or interviewer code) and of course password.

Project selection in separate screen - for interviewers.

After you enter your code/username and password press button 'Ok' the next window will appear:

Select the questionnaire from the drop down menu. In case you have selected CATI questionnaire that is multilingual and has quota cells defined the following options will appear and allow you to choose your language and location:

Note: These options will only be appear when the questionnaire is multilingual, sample quota are defined and it is a CATI questionnaire. Further the interviewer has to meet language conditions in order to select the language. This means that if the questionnaire is English/Dutch and the interviewer does not speak English (according to the system) the interviewer will not get any numbers when English is selected.

Login in briefing mode (like ‘take a break’ screen).

It is possible to select an 'Hour type'. This is especially useful if you use the system for counting working hours of your interviewers. You can define different activities such as:

In this way you can keep a track of interviewer's hours and activities.
Important: to define these activities of your choice please contact Nebu's helpdesk. This list will be updated according to your wishes by our team.

It works as follow interviewer log in and in the second screen he/she will select the hour type from a drop down menu and the system will start counting the hours for that activity:

The overview of these activities can be found in Dub Planner. Log in to Dub Planner select -> Time Registration from the left menu then ‘Declaration Overview’, enter code of the interviewer for who you wish to view an overview and press button ‘Overview’.
The information about the interviewer will be displayed and you can see for which activity the interviewer was logged on -> ‘Hour type’ column.

Managing workstations.

There is a new way of managing workstation. The terminal code is replaced by a workstation and new features are added. You can define a dialer for each station separately. Further you can define into which group the workstation belong. This defines workstation's rights because each group has different access rights.

Important: There is no action needed when you now use terminal code. The terminal code(s) will automatically change into the workstation so you can continue working without any interruption.

Only when you want to create a new workplace you will no longer create a terminal code but a workstation. Log in as a ‘sysman’ (in Manage Frames), select ‘Manage Workstation’ from the left menu:

In order to add a new workstation click on the link below the list of your workstations "Add workstation" the following wizard will open:

Define Identity : Define Dialer: Define VNC Connection

Press button "Ok" to complete. The workstation will be added to the list of your workstations.

Before your interviewers can use this workstation you have to define this on the actual workstation. This can be done by typing the similar link into your address bar:

http://your server address/scripts/dubinterviewer.dll/WorkStation

Important: use the same link as you use to access you Manage Frames only replace the end part by "WorkStation".
The following screen will appear:

Enter the " Code/Name " and " Password " that you have defined in the previous steps and press button " Ok ". This workstation was successfully defined. The log in interviewer screen will appear

Project Management

You can select a project/survey type.

This is a new. You have to select the survey type from a drop down menu, which offers following options:

Store start and end time for each project.

You can select a period for each project. Use the planning agenda button next to the field to select date.
Only when the questionnaire is an Open poll or Member poll the system will use these dates to determine from when and till when the questionnaire can be accessed. In all other cases it is just information for your self.

Store Nett N for each project.

This NettN does not have any further function it is only to show how many completes you need.

System Management

Define access rights.

This works at this moment only for CATI and this action is done in Dub Planner. A new option was added under Maintenance -> User Management. If you select this option you will be able to create groups of persons and questionnaire and define their access and functionality rights.
It works as follows: every person within the system can become a member of a group and will be able to see only questionnaire that has been define for that group.

Log in into Dub Planner as a system administrator and select Maintenance a sub menu will be revealed select option User Management and the following screen will be shown:

As you can see on the image the screen is divided into two sections:

Select Area of User management - LEFT TREE

When you open the user management you see a tree structure. On the top is System and under that ‘All persons’ . See image:

When you click 'All persons' you will be able to manage all members and create different groups, assigned rights and questionnaire for 'All persons'.

Note: If you have already created subgroups you can click on the plus next to the 'All persons’ and reveal the tree structure:

When you select and click the subgroup in our example 'Test1' you will see that the so called edit area will change accordingly and you will be able to see and edit rights of this subgroup.

Display/Edit area - RIGHT TREE

In this part of the screen you can edit, create:

Explanation

Before you can start assigning rights to groups and questionnaires it is important to understand how the system works. The following section will explain how the rights structure is organized. As mentioned the User management has a tree structure, there is some kind of hierarchy where rights can be inherited from the higher level.

The right tree (select area) is displaying the groups that you have. Note: if you have not create groups yet, you have only the following structure:

System ( on this level no rights are defined )
 - All persons (this level are all persons from your system and if you select this level in the right tree you will be able to create sub groups. To learn how to create sub groups click here

Important : the following color agenda will help you to assign and revoke rights:

This means that if you assign any rights to 'All persons' all subgroups will automatically inherit the rights.

So if you do not want the sub group for example Test 1 to have rights to all functionalities you have to revoke rights for 'All persons' (-in this level) and assigned rights in the Test 1 level, in this way they won't have all right or will not inherit (regular green) them from higher group (All persons) the same is applicable for questionnaires.
Important : this will have direct effect so be careful with this!
If you want that group Test 1 will have only rights to questionnaires group test you should revoke rights for ‘All questionnaires’ ( in ‘All persons’ level) and assigned rights in Test 1level:

Person groups

You have selected all persons from the tree structure (see the headline – this will show you the position – level which you are editing). From the drop down menu you can select what you want to edit. For example the first step would be to create different subgroups (for different projects) from all persons. In our example we have created test groups ( Test 1 and Test2).

In order to create a subgroup click on the ‘All persons’ with your left mouse button and the following menu will appear:

Select ‘Add subgroup’ option and the following dialog will open:

Enter name and press ‘OK’

Enter the log description (optional) and press ‘Ok’. The subgroup will appear in a tree if you click on the plus sign:

You can also create sub-subgroup this works the same as creating a sub group. You should point at the subgroup and click the left mouse button ->the menu will be revealed and you select option ‘Add subgroup’ then you should give the group a name and a short description if needed and the sub-subgroup will be added to the tree:

Note: When you create a new group or subgroup or sub-subgroup rights of this newly created group will be undefined. This means that you have to assign rights to them. See images bold green means rights assigned normal green rights are inherited.
You can assign rights to any group by pointing at the group and pressing the left mouse button -> menu will be revealed -> select the option 'Assigned rights'.

Questionnaire groups

After you create different groups and subgroups you should also create groups of questionnaires and assign right for this questionnaire groups. In order to create questionnaire groups you should select the option ‘Questionnaire groups’ from the drop down menu:

Please notice that you are editing questionnaires groups for ‘All persons’ see the circle.

You can create different subgroups and assign right to the group 'All persons'. In order to create a new sub-group point at the group to which this subgroup should belong and press left mouse button ->the menu will be revealed -> select the option 'Add subgroup'. The following dialog will open:

Press Ok and enter a short description if needed:

Press Ok and the new subgroup will automatically appear in the tree structure.

This tree structure can be understood as follows: all persons have rights to access all questionnaires

Functionalities

In order to define access right for different groups, in our case ‘All persons’ (see the circle), you should select the option ‘Functionalities’ from the drop down menu:

The following tree structure will appear:

You can assign rights that each group should have. Our example is editing/defining showing rights for 'All persons'. The bold green means that rights were assigned. Normal green means the rights are inherited from a higher level in the tree ('All rights' in this case).

Back to Manage Frames

In the Manage Frames (MF), you can assign a questionnaire to a group of questionnaires - that were created in Dub Planner. Select 'Add questionnaire' from the left menu the Dub InterViewer - Add a questionnaire will open. Select a questionnaire (Path field) and then assign it to the group, see image:

To assign a user to a person group (only for MF sysman users allowed). Select 'User management' from the left menu and the Dub InterViewer - User management will open. Here you can modify among others: preferences, password, username, rights and as mentioned assign to a group, see image:

Further in the preferences of a user you can select a group of questionnaires that you want to see in your Manage Frames. This is only a filter possibility:
