Release Notes Dub InterViewer version 6.1 (July 2004)
| Dub InterViewer | |
Pressing the ‘Enter’ button multiple times within a short timeframe will not lead to a crash of the system.
Invalid replace-tags in the Message form (for instance: <%~password%> ) will not result in a crash of the system.
When updating the default variables 'Name', 'Phone' or 'Company' using the 'Edit respondentdata' in Dub InterViewer, the initial value will be automatically moved from name to name1/name2, from phone to phone1/phone2 etc.
The processing of the phone calls and the appointments when using multiple time zones have been improved.
When respondent and interviewer are located in different time zone, the current time of the respondent is displayed for the interviewer.
When using a PBX dialer, no command will be sent to dialer when the phone number is empty.
In the Appointment screen the assignment of an appointment can now be set by default. This is done in the file DubCATISettings.js (DefaultAssignTo = 0/1/2).
The message that shows when a multiple response question has not been answered has been changed from 'Please select at least 1 item' into 'No answer is given at
The labels of a (multiple) items pop up will rotate properly in case this option was selected.
In the previous version, possible randomisations/rotations were never executed in a test interview. Now randomisations/rotations will be executed normally (like in the 'normal' interview). This can be overruled in the GlobalSettings.
Time offset (the amount of minutes deviating from GMT) is now recorded for WAPI-questionnaires too (so that not all interviews are recorded in local server time).
A new system for recording the times of the (parts of) the interview has been added to prevent possible 'negative' interview times. These times are also stored in the dataset ('Interviewer time blocks').
The logon procedure of the Interview logon screen on a remote server has been simplified. If you logon to (the remote) Manage rames first and then replace 'manageframes' for 'terminal' in the URL, you can direclty set the terminal code. The old method remains active.
| Manage Frames | |
On Manage Frames it is possible to set the access restriction to 'Allow only invited respondents' by default. This is done in the file ManageSettings.js
In systems that use multiple servers, the routine for removing a questionnaire from Manage Frames and sending this command to other servers has been improved.
A menu is added to Call History, which enables you to go to 'Edit respondent data' directly.
In Correct interview, the result of the interview is now shown, to prevent correcting non-completes.
It is now possible to activate the appointments and 'busies/no answers' etc in the Survey List of Manage Frames by clicking the white arrow and selecting the options 'Call appointments now' and 'Retry non responses now'.
| Other changes in Dub InterViewer | |
Expressions that write values to Dub Knowledge will not be executed when the variable/question that has to be written does not have a value or when the question is not asked.
The interviewing status of a respondent is now written to Dub Knowledge, using the new statuses of Dub Knowledge 2.1.
In the Dub Online Reporting it is now possible to indicate the type of frequencies of a multiple response question: based on the number of responses (Comp=R) or based on the number of answers (Comp=A). Previously the latter was the default. Also, an unanswered question is shown as 'Question unanswered' (In Dutch: 'Vraag niet beantwoord').
A folder called 'changed' has been added to inetpub\scripts\dubinterviewer\ in which user customised htm pages (like noquest.htm, responded.htm, login.htm, nonrespons.htm etc) can be stored. This will prevent possible unintentional overwriting of customised pages when newly released pages are being implemented. Note that the user should manually copy the customised screen into this folder.
Erroneously entered login information will not be shown in the log anymore. The invalid login and passwords will be replaced by ***.
The coding of blocks have been improved: the phase indicating the coding progress now works properly. Also, the actual question/item text of the block item is being shown, rather than <%~_InclItem_%>. When the answer items have conditions based on the block items, the appropriate/matching codelists is now being shown.
| (Multiple) items popup questions | |
The labels of the (multiple) items popup question are now placed in a separate tab in the Design Screen.
The problems around the labels of the (multiple) items popup have been resolved: Copying a form will copy the labels along, the right label texts are showed when using multilingual projects, conditions based on labels can be used without errors and the labels will now be included in the translation using Excel. Also, when importing a design directly from DubInterviewer (instead of from a Dub exchange file), the labels will also be copied along now.
The width of the (first) column in which the answer items are shown can now be set: 'Item column width' (need update of table QuestProps for this). Also, it is possible to assign codes and conditions to the labels of (multiple) items popup questions.
In the HTML export, the labels are now shown in a more separate section.
| Sample Management | |
The sample management window now only shows the applicable fields for CATI/WAPI.
The speed of importing a text file containing sample has been improved and an import time estimator has been added. Also the field/variable 'Test case' can now be read in.
No Access Violation will occur when overwriting phone numbers.
The filter possibilities have been extended: it is now possible to filter on 'time zone/no time zone' and on 'No language'
The 'Normalize phone number' feature is improved for NL, USA and UK.
| Quotas | |
A Wizard for creating quotas is added, which enables you to select the appropriate quotas (sample or question quotas) and to create them in an easy way.
Sample quotas and question quotas are now shown together in one screen and not in separate screens anymore.
The use of the variable ‘Language’ in question quotas now works properly.
| Export | |
The export feature has been extended: it is easier to determine which values are to be set to MISSING VALUE, and a tick box is added for using 2 digits in extensions of blocks and items in (multiple) items popup for compatibility of older export definitions ('Always use 2 positions for naming'). Also, in the export to SPSS the following extension can be used: EDATE for dd-mm-yyyy, ADATE for mm/dd/yyyy and A for other combinations.
The fields/variables Phone1/Phone2 and Name1/Name2 from sample management can now also be exported.
When language is not specified in the results, the default language is used instead of 0 (Dutch) now.
The filter section of the export can also filter on range of dates now.
Removing export definition now also results in the removal of the (automatically generated) export folder.
The SPSS export option ‘No Path in data list file’ will be checked by default on the Terminal Server to prevent the creation of an irrelevant path in the SPSS syntaxt file.
| Timezones & Timegroups: | |
Many improvements have been made for projects that use time zones which result in the appropriate login times and overviews.
The Screen for defining time zones has been moved to DubQuest (was in Dub Tools)
The Screen for shift planning time zones has been moved to DubQuest (was in Dub Tools)
The Screen for defining time groups has been made more clear.
When importing Time Zones, EST is recognized and recalculated to GMT.
The Time Zones table has been updated (field added, time zones revised).
| DubMan: | |
The memory leak of DubMan is resolved.
The Mail Scheduler is removed from DubMan and placed in separate service.
| MailScheduler: | |
The error handling of the queued emails is greatly improved.
When sending out emails, the connection to the SMTP server stays open for the whole session, instead of continuously opening and closing.
Reschedule tasks: A task that isn't allowed to run at the current time, is now rescheduled until the first possible valid time.
| FileSync: | |
FileSync is now much faster, due to the change in order in which actions are taken.
The feature Quick synchronises (which allows projects to synchronise ASAP) has been repaired.
| DubArchive: | |
DubArchive doesn’t work when the project's path is entered manually so manual entry has been prohibited.
