Detailed release notes Dub Knowledge 2.5.0

Sample management

Classify samples

It’s possible to create categories which can be used to categorize samples and projects. This classification is completely user settable. Categories can be created or edited in the 'categories' menu, which can be found in the left of the screen in the menu (in the second group of menu items). When clicking this menu item, the following screen opens:

In this screen you see an overview of the categories that already exist.

Clicking the button ‘New’, creates a new category. In the screen that opens, a name and a description (a discription is not mandatory) have to be entered.

When you click the button ‘Language’ you can set the category in different languages with the matching names and descriptions.

When a category is created it can be used to classify a sample, see the screenshot below.

These categories can be used with creating samples in exclusions.

General

A whole new feature is added to DubKnowledge, namely the possibility to create projects (Sample Only Projects, SOP). These projects can be used to invite members for questionnaires. Everything needed for this can be set within these projects: sample, mail schedule, web templates, redirection etc... A complete description of how to use these projects can be found in the manual.

SOP - Overviews: Showing progress of a project, define rights for the overviews

The progress of projects can be viewed in an overview, which can be opened by clicking 'overview' in the menu and then choosing 'projects progress'. Here you will see a list of all the projects. When you choose 'Active proj. progress', a list of only the running projects will show. In the overvieuw, details of the project can be seen: This is just an overview, nothing is editable here.

SOP-mail scheduler: applet based HTML editor

Creating an HTML mail is now made easier with an HTML editor. This editor is opened by clicking the ‘Editor’ button in the ‘mail content’ tab of the mail scheduler screen.

The editor screen will pop up:

The first part of the screen shows all the HTML options with which the layout of the mail content can be edited. There is a button that is very important in this editor, and that’s the ‘insert dynamic content’ in the bottom left . With this button you can insert dynamic content in the mail, like features or sub-panel properties.

For example when you want to start the email with the text:’Dear <first name>, you should add a feature where the first name of the person should appear. To achieve this, click the button ‘insert dynamic content’ and select the feature for ‘first name’ from the tree. This is done by clicking on the feature name, and then ínsert selected item in the bottom right of the screen.
In the mail body, a referral to this feature will show now, in this case '<#DubKnowledge[7/First name]>'.

To save the settings you did in this editor screen, click the 'save' button in the top left of the screen. The HTML for this content will now show in the mail content text box. Ofcourse HTML code can also directly be entered in this text box, without using the editor.

SOP - Start page/Landing page template handler.

For each project, templates for the start page, landing page and the error pages can be created. When a project doesn't use a specific template (that is created in this overview), the default templates will be used. The default templates are accessible through the menu item 'Page templates'.

To open the template handler for the project defined templates, click on the 'Web pages' tab in the project menu.

To create a new template, click 'New' and the following screen will open:

The following pages can be created:

In the 'general' tab you can choose which template you wish to define, from the 'Functionality' drop down box. When checking the 'functionality default', this template will be used as a default when no other default page can be found. In the second tab 'html content', the page can be created with HTML code. This can be done also with an HTML editor, which will simplify creating it. Just click on the 'Open editor' button on the right to use this.
The html editor is a WYSIWYG editor. With the buttons in the top of the screen, HTML can be easily added.

Instead of creating a template here, it is also possible to link to a template you have defined earlier. In 'Page templates' you can create multiple templates and from the projects you can link to these templates. This way standard templates can be defined and be used for multiple projects, without having to copy/paste the source code for every project.
